callas releases major update for pdfaPilot 3

(Berlin – 16 December 2011) callas software, leader in PDF technology for publishing, print production and document archiving, is delighted to announce the release of pdfaPilot version 3. The new release brings full support for the new PDF/A-3 standard announced for 2012, making it possible to archive the original document (such as Word, Excel, XML…) into the PDF/A file.

callas pdfaPilot 2.4 introduces full PDF/VT support, natively converts PostScript and more

Berlin, 8 June 2011 -  callas software has expanded the conversion options of its flagship product pdfaPilot – the tool for professional creation and validation of PDF/A files. Version 2.4 of callas pdfaPilot allows users to convert numerous additional formats into PDF/A files. These include PostScript/EPS and JPEG, TIFF and PNG image formats. An additional highlight of the product update is the validation of PDF/VT – a standard format for variable data printing. callas pdfaPilot 2.4 checks the corresponding pages of a document to ensure they comply with the standard and provides detailed error messages if it encounters discrepancies.

iSquare selects callas software technology for PDF/A-compliant archival of daily newspapers at the German National Library

Berlin, 15 February 2011 - As part of a project for the German National Library, the Berlin-based software maker iSquare has selected pdfToolbox technology, made by callas software. iSquare has been preparing “e-Paper” editions of 300 German dailies in PDF/A format, which the National Library needs for long-term archival and preservation for posterity. The pdfToolbox solution from callas software ensures that the files collected overnight by iSquare’s spider program are converted into high-quality PDF/A files.

pdfaPilot from callas software now PDF/A-2 ready

Berlin - 13 December, 2010 - Following the ISO's adoption of the second part of the PDF/A-2 standard just a few days ago, callas software today announces the release of a new version of their flagship product, callas pdfaPilot. This version fully supports all features of PDF/A-2 with respect to validation and conversion of documents. This makes callas pdfaPilot one of the first tools to support the new standard. Additionally callas pdfaPilot is now fully 64-bit enabled and can directly convert more file formats to PDF/A. Support for splitting and merging PDF files in the server version and batch processing of PDF files in the desktop version round up the major features in this new release.
