callas software announces full compliancy with PDF/A test suite Isartor
Berlin, Germany, - September 3, 2008 - callas software, leading supplier of PDF technologies for document management, archiving, publishing and print production announces full compliancy with the Isartor test suite for PDF/A.
In August 2008 the PDF/A Competence Center released the Isartor test suite, which is designed to validate PDF/A validators. It contains an extensive set of about 200 PDF files where each file is in a very specific way not compliant with the PDF/A standard. An ISO standard compliant PDF/A validation tool must identify all problematic aspects to pass the Isartor test suite for PDF/A. The Isartor test suite is available as a free download from www.pdfa.org and enables interested users to determine whether a PDF/A validation tool can be considered PDF/A compliant.
callas software’s PDF/A validation technology “pdfaPilot” is fully compliant with the Isartor test suite for PDF/A as callas pdfaPilot is able to detect all relevant problems.
In addition a substantial number of the files of the Isartor PDF/A test suite can be successfully converted to PDF/A by fixing the respective problems. This means that inappropriately created PDF/A files, that do not fully comply with the PDF/A requirements , can easily be adjusted and saved as PDF/A compliant files.
“The Isartor test suite is an important milestone for everybody having to deal with PDF/A,” says Olaf Drümmer, Managing Director of callas software GmbH. “It ends the uncertainty stemming from differing results from different validation programs and allows for comprehensive quality assurance in the PDF/A field. This is very important as quality and trustworthiness are exceptionally important in a sector that targets documents long term archiving.”
