Four Pees releases new Atomyx Portal product
Ghent – 19 June 2012 - Answering frequent customer requests, Four Pees is proud to release its out-of-the-box job submission and quality control portal solution, Atomyx Portal. It streamlines PDF file submission with built-in quality control and correction, gathers required job information (metadata) and provides immediate client feedback. Atomyx Portal is based on the open-source content-management-system Drupal and on proven pdfToolbox preflight and correction technology from callas software.
Out-of-the-box portal technology
Atomyx Portal, built on standard Drupal technology, provides a feature rich and extremely stable portal, backed up by the extensive Drupal developer community. Reliance on Drupal ensures that customization, extension and custom branding can easily be done where needed.

File submission made easy
Atomyx Portal greatly simplifies the job of a printer or publisher and their clients. Customers select the correct product in the portal and upload their files using their favorite web browser. Quality control is completely embedded which gives immediate feedback on the quality of the uploaded files; if problems are found they are clearly highlighted to the clients so that corrected files can be uploaded without delay.
On the receiving end all preflighted and approved jobs are delivered in a structured way; each product allows setting up a different output folder. All metadata for the submitted jobs becomes available in a comprehensive XML file next to the job, ready for further processing either manually or automatically.
Starting point for automation
While Atomyx Portal is a standalone portal solution, it is also a perfect starting point for further automating a company’s workflow. Each job is delivered with a comprehensive XML file containing all information entered by the client and assembled by the portal solution. This information can be used to create a further integration with an MIS system or workflow system such as Atomyx Automation.

Atomyx Portal introduces the following main features:
- Easy-to-use portal for clients, replacing the need to upload to FTP or submit through email, with direct feedback on the quality of the uploaded files and confirmation of delivery to the printer.
- Support for products with predefined preflight profiles (rules for quality control and correction of PDF files), custom metadata (job tickets) and optionally automatic creation of low-resolution preview files for clients.
- Industry-standard quality control and corrections using callas pdfToolbox technology.
- Delivery of jobs after successful preflight and approval to predefined locations, including extensive job metadata in XML format; ready for pickup using MIS or workflow systems.
- Easy deployment, configuration and customization using the Drupal framework.
- Full web-browser solution, zero-install for clients.
Pricing and availability
Atomyx Portal can be purchased at 5.000 euro. A maintenance contract is required and priced at 20% of the product price. The product can also be rented at 249 euro per month including all updates and upgrades.
Atomyx Portal is available immediately from Four Pees and selected Four Pees partners. Professional services are available for further customization, analysis and integration.
