Berlin – July 2, 2018 - axaio software, developer of solutions for PDF creation, printing and content correction workflows for the publishing and printing markets, announces the availability of update version 2.7.310 of MadeToPrint. The new version contains a new feature and some major enhancements.
axaio MadeToPrint is a plug-in for i.a. Adobe InDesign and InDesign Server to automate print output processes through standardization of print settings, merging multiple output steps into one output task and ensuring consistent output results through different controll checks. These workflow optimizations affect in much higher efficiency and output reliability.
In the setup of MadeToPrint, users have the possibility to define the page range of a document which needs to be output. Previously you could only overwrite the page range of all MadeToPrint jobs, which were combined in a MadeToPrint job set, e.g. all jobs included in the set were executed with the page range 'all pages'. Now you can additionally choose to use the preset page ranges of each single job when executing a set.
The benefit of that feature is that you will now output exactly the defined page range of each single job in a set instead of e.g. 'all pages' of all jobs in a set. This new setting option means a boost of efficiency as well as a more tailor-made and accurate batch processing in MadeToPrint.
The update 2.7.310 of MadeToPrint comes with the newest PDF post processing engine for an enhanced use of the most recent callas pdfToolbox profiles. The known 'PDF Post Process' feature in MadeToPrint makes it possible to extend the PDF check by running a preflight on the newly generated PDF file. Using a custom or predefined preflight profile, MadeToPrint searches for errors and moves the file to a predefined folder — if an error was found. Additionally to the PDF check, you can also modify the PDF by fix ups set in the PDF profile. The PDF preflight technology used in MadeToPrint is based on the callas pdfToolbox product line, axaio's sister company.
We have lately introduced the new option in the single page output feature to define this MadeToPrint setting directly in the XML job ticket and not solely in the MadeToPrint job. The configuration in the job ticket has special benefits, especially if you are using MadeToPrint integrated with vjoon K4 or Woodwing Enterprise. This led in some cases to a problem, where single page output settings were overwritten by the job ticket mode. With the new version, the single page output set up in the job mode is recognized again and applies correctly.
Furthermore, some smaller improvements have been added to the token engine of MadeToPrint to enhance the reliability of this practical feature.
