In order to guarantee quality across all stages of production 2020, Oxy signalétique implemented an automated workflow, from order taking to shipping.
Oxy Signalétique is one of the three largest companies in the printing industry in France. The company was founded as a small family business and with its 40 years’ experience, it has become an expert in signage and marking. From its origins in the aeronautic and rail sectors with customers such as Airbus, SNCF and RATP, Oxy has, over the years, expanded its activities to include museography, buildings and signage.
Oxy Signalétique is motivated by an ambitious culture that allows the same level of quality to be assured whether for industrial production or custom projects. The company incorporates different techniques for screen and digital printing, finishing, assembly and machining. In January 2020, Oxy implemented an automated flow in order to guarantee quality across all stages of production, from order taking to shipping.
“The idea was to diversify our business and evolve towards a web-to-print system. These systems were already considerably advanced and we had to go for web-to-print as a service” explains François Leleu, Print Communication Engineer at Oxy Signalétique. “This is why we launched a call for tenders, to which Pixel Tech responded, offering the Pressero system.”
For many years, Pixel Tech has been working closely with Four Pees for the installation of software applications and the training of staff who are required to use these systems. “As a trusted reseller of Four Pees, Pixel Tech ensured that we won this fantastic project”, says Tom Peire, CEO of Four Pees. “We are very grateful to them for this. It’s always a pleasure to join forces with them.”
Some of the main reasons that drove Oxy Signalétique to adopt a web-to-print platform were founded on connectivity and customer service, in order to reduce the delay between the order entry and its delivery.
“First of all, Pressero is a solution that is very user-friendly and easy to link with other software, such as our underlying flow solution”, specifies François Leleu. “Moreover, Pressero enables both public and private sites to be created, which was one of the prerequisites in our choice of an automated web-to-print system. These private sites are dedicated to regular customers and allow them to place orders more swiftly because they group their prices and products. Finally, the option of Pressero’s automated flow integrator enables us to connect the system to our internal flow solution.”
With Pressero’s automated web-to-print system, customers can instantly generate and approve or amend their quotes. When customers approve the quote, it is automatically sent to their internal ERP system and production is subsequently launched.
“This saves a lot of time not only for us, but also for our customers, because orders can be transmitted more quickly and with no intervention on our part, which also allows us to process and deliver orders in more swiftly”, explains François Leleu, Print Communication Engineer at Oxy Signalétique.
The installation of Pressero brought other advantages to Oxy Signalétique. Particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, the system enabled a very quick switch to online sales. In the B2C segment, it has, for example, facilitated the handling of numerous orders for plexiglass and face coverings.
“Without the integration of Pressero, it would have been impossible for us to handle as many B2C orders during the first few months of the Covid-19 crisis”, says François Leleu. “Things are off to a slower start in the B2B segment but even so, we felt it was important to show our social commitment and help sectors in difficulty, for example museums. Finally, the use of Pressero brought an internal advantage to the company as it is an additional tool that enables us to handle easy orders more quickly and ergonomically, which has again helped us save time.”
Tom Peire, CEO of Four Pees: “This is precisely why the decision to purchase a web-to-print system isn’t one to be taken lightly. If you want a web-to-print solution, you have to look for one that offers the flexibility you need to respond to unexpected situations, such as Covid-19, as quickly as possible. You also want a system that evolves. Right now, you may only have a few orders via the web-to-print system, but you need to be forward-looking and find a solution that can evolve with your company, rather than investing in new systems all the time.”
Oxy Signalétique is positive about the future following the installation of its automated web-to-print system. “We are convinced of the value of automation in our printing processes and we will examine how to extend it in the future”, concludes François Leleu.
