Berlin, December 17, 2018 – callas software, market leader for automated PDF quality control and archival solutions, releases version 2.0 of its pdfChip software solution. pdfChip 2.0 adds a 64-bit version on Windows, optimized handling of referenced images while supporting more image types, support for PDF 2.0 and much more!
ISO (International Standards Organization) has published a new major version of the PDF specification, called PDF 2.0. With pdfChip 2.0, callas software already adds support for PDF 2.0, including the possibility to add correct version information and specific support for the new black point compensation entry. Better support for setting PDF blend modes is also included in this release.
pdfChip 2.0 also adds the possibility to include Photoshop (PSD) or TIFF images in a generated PDF document, next to the already supported image formats (such as GIF, JPG, PNG and more). Of course, pdfChip has always supported referenced PDF documents which are included without quality loss in the generated output PDF.
pdfChip is very often implemented in web server environments, where safety is primordial. To make this easier, pdfChip now includes an additional command-line parameter to allow or disallow access to remote content.
To increase processing speed on Windows, a 64-bit version is now available. On all platforms, referenced image and PDF data is now handled in an optimized way to avoid high-memory consumption during PDF creation. Lastly, the latest version of the TEC-IT barcode library has been integrated for more complete barcode support.
